Something that is expected of taxi companies, both drivers and office staff, is a good knowledge of the area in which they operate. This doesn’t mean just knowing the location of a particular road or business, but also being able to recommend places of interest, pubs, restaurants etc that may appeal to their customers.

With this in mind, three of us in the office (Les (a trained chef), Ed (another trained chef) and Graham (a culinary incompetent, to put it mildly) decided that, once a month, we would visit a different restaurant in the area, and see if it was somewhere that we could recommend to our customers. We put our heads together to come up with a selections of restaurants and cuisines to get us started, with two provisos. Firstly, that each month, we would try a different cuisines, and secondly, that the restaurant would be within a reasonable distance for a taxi; after all, it is the trade we are in!

First up, we decided we would visit Lomito, an Argentine steak restaurant in Gerrards Cross. Check back soon to see how we found it!
